Skills of a Grandma

I know these days kids are only interested in their games. The Ipads..phones..and computers are what helps these kids think and keep busy. I hear it all the time when the kids of my sons girlfriend comes over or( they say before they come ..there is nothing to do at her house.)

I gave them some stale bread to feed the birds and when I went out to see what they were doing I found them throwing the bread to the road. I asked them why and they told me that I told them to. I told them that I wanted them to feed the birds but asked them that if I told you to go outside to eat would you sit in the road?

Of coarse they said no, so I asked them why would you think the birds want their meal in the road. So they took the bread to the back yard. why would you feed the birds in the road. No common sense I swear.

Another time they came over they were playing on the propane tank. Jumping off and standing on the top. When we came out They were told not to be near that tank cuz of the pipes and the gas substance inside could blow you to the next yard if it is disturb wrong. Like broke the lines we could die if we don’t smell the leak.

Why would you go into the back half of the yard when we had a day and half of heavy rains. Can you not see the mud and how messy the yard is? Why would you go there? She did and fell in the mud and told her mom “I did not know”. Wow no common sense. They are 11 and 10, but either they really don’t know or mom never help them out of the house.

So when they do come over I go over the rules of the yard. I want them to explore, But not get hurt. I want them to use their imagination, but again I have to keep an eye on them so they don’ destroy or get hurt.
